JHS, Lda operates in the metalworking industry, specialising in industrial maintenance, equipment assembly, welded construction, machined parts, preventive maintenance, and related services.

Established on the 4th of April 2014, the company was founded in response to a challenge that has since proven to be a rewarding gamble. A challenge that piqued the founder’s interest, they brought expertise in key areas, along with valuable industry contacts that helped lay the foundation for the company’s growth.

In its early years, JHS focused primarily on mechanical maintenance and consultancy, particularly in the food and paper industries.

However, as demand for its services grew, new clients and fresh opportunities arose, prompting the company to rethink its strategy and expand its scope. The need for new facilities – providing the conditions necessary to allow for this expansion – became clear, leading to a relocation to its current facilities in October 2016.

With the move, JHS took a significant step forward by launching its own production operations in machining, welded construction, and project development, investing in the necessary machinery for each area.

In 2019, JHS applied for the Portugal 2020 framework, which required strict compliance and led to the acquisition of advanced equipment with greater capacity and cutting-edge technology.

As the team and operational demands increased, the company expanded its facilities by constructing an additional pavilion and restructuring the existing layout: one pavilion dedicated to machining and another to welded construction and services.

By 2023, further expansion was necessary, and another pavilion was added along with new infrastructure to provide for the immediate future. This included increasing the premises by 700m² and creating a dedicated area for receiving and storing raw materials.

This continued growth has led to JHS now serving the glass, paper, food, and ceramics industries, meeting the needs of a diverse client base, including well-established brands.
